MICROSOFT PICTURE MANAGER. 1: Find the picture and open it 2: Right click on it with your mouse 3: Highlight OPEN WITH 4: Select PICTURE MANAGER 5: Goto top of the screen select EDIT PICTURE 6: Goto right of the screen select COMPRESS PICTURE 7: Goto right of the screen select COMPRESS PICTURE FOR WEB PAGE 8: Goto right of the screen select OK 9: Goto the top of the screen to FILE SAVE AS 10: Save the picture to a folder of your choice ( I have one in my doc's/forum pic's) 11: When you close picture manager it will say There are changes that have not been saved "PRESS DON'T SAVE" So that you do not compress your original picture HOPE THIS HELPS there will be more soon jefe

Shrink Pic allows you to send photos from your computer using your favorite email program, instant messenger, or web browser. And it does so without the need for any effort from you - whatsoever! Simply install Shrink Pic and that's it. Shrink Pic runs in the background and when you send photos, it will kick in and have them compressed for you. You have full control of what Shrink Pic does. You can specify the size of the photos to be sent and which photo types should be handled, but the actual compression operation is done automatically. You no longer need to make duplicates and resize them manually - Shrink Pic does that for you. Caution When you want to send photos for printing in a shop, you probably want to print with the highest photo resolution. Otherwise, why pay for an expensive camera if you only print low quality pictures? Make sure that Shrink Pic is not processing your files when you upload them to your favorite photo printing website. You can either close the program or deselect Enable photo compression to ensure that Shrink Pic is not processing your photos when you upload them . OK, I've mastered the art of adding pictures...I need to move a little deeper into the technological world now and try to attach a video....how the heck do you do that  Is there some knowledgable person onboard who could explain in very easy terms of how to attach a video file....it really does need to be in extremely plain English for this poor blighter to understand. What I am looking to do is something like the clips in the blog by Django: http://www.costalivingforums.com/view_topic.php?id=2409&forum_id=150 I have uploaded a video file to photobucket and have all sorts of wonderful code, however when I try to put it in a post it just shows the code in a box and there is no way of seeing the video....I am obviously doing something wrong, so a step by step guide would be very useful for this dummy Thanks in advance

Casa. Before I totally confuse you with my desription, have you clicked on the 'Help' button at the top of the site (next to the calendar button), as it does have instructions there. But does depend a little on what browser you are using. I am pretty sure the instructions are for IE. But there are some other instructions for other browsers here somewhere if you need them.

ok. You see when you click to reply, you get lots of options in little boxes at the top of the reply box... it's one of those! In the help section it does say a bit about it in the section 'inserting a link'. If you don't manage before I find the post with more info, I will link it to this one.

I have read about what these different options do, but it didn't seem to solve my problem...I will do a test topic on a forum to show you my results and then it can be deleted later.

That sounds a cunning plan! I don't have anything here to try it with...hang on , yes I do. I will play with them, but it probably depends on what type of clip you are loading as to which one it is. I did do it successfully in the past, but have forgotten how now (brown cow).

Casa To insert a video or a slide show (FLV) that plays on the forum page, you will need to edit the code given by your hosting service; it is a hit and miss affair: Internet Explorer and Firefox do not handle this in the same way. I have several short "tutorials" on the subject. I did not post them here because nobody has ever been interested. I think you use Photobucket, correct? If you are interested, you can send me a PM/private message and we'll see what can be done. In any case, tests will be necessary.
